Good day, Marius, at your service. I'm passionate about bouldering, trekking in the nature and of course, the Wim Hof Method. Born and raised in Germany, I have moved to the beautiful city of Amsterdam.
For me, the Wim Hof Method is all about connection, happiness, health and strength. When I started the Wim Hof Method, I thought it was all about sitting in an ice bath and withstanding the cold. And that is true, but it is not the goal, but it is a tool to be happier, healthier and stronger.
As a Wim Hof instructor, I want to share this with you and teach you how to become a better version of yourself.
Even as a child, I always wanted to know how things work. I want to understand the mechanics behind a method. The beauty of the Wim Hof Method is that you do not only feel great, but there is a lot of research that explores why the method is working. And I very much enjoy breaking complicated research down into simple bites and share it with my students.
I took my first cold bath in a mountain creek in the Alps. It was summer, we were trekking through the Alps, and it was hot. The water in the creek was cold. Ice cold. And I liked it.
This was at a time when I was down with the flu for several weeks every year and felt a lot of pressure and stress at work.
Back in my home town of Amsterdam I started to look into the Wim Hof Method, and I realized that there is more to it than just the cold. Over the course of a year it has transformed my life. I am practially never sick, and I hardly ever feel stressed. My bouldering has improved. The practice of the breathing exercises and the ice baths have made me more focused and more confident. I stopped trying, and started doing.
