Outline of Workshop

Healthy ageing is what most people aim and wish for. The Wim Hof Method is by its singularity and effectiveness a very powerful support tool in this health aim. The cleansing influence of the breathing exercises and the remarkable advantages of cold training, combined with commitment and focus, have a great influence on general vitality.

Safety and privacy come first in my workshops. Relaxed and with abdominal breathing, my participants start the breathing techniques. Everyone can follow the exercises at their own pace and unforced. There is a possibility to take an ice bath.

The Trainer

Enthusiasm, optimism, being grateful, trying to learn from the negative that happens to us, having an eye and ear for all the beauty that passes through our lives and passion for health, are key concepts for me.

Since March 2015 I have been giving these workshops as a certified trainer. I think it is a very nice and rewarding activity.

I have, through my age, experienced a lot of learning moments in my life. The wisdom that I gained from this and my curiosity about everything in the field of health gives me a broad base from which I can draw during the workshop. Coupled with a deep conviction of the health benefits of the Wim Hof Method, I heartily dare to recommend my workshops which are being held on a beautiful and inspiring location.

Possible Results

From the many contacts I had afterwards with participants in the workshops the following appeared: Almost unanimously was indicated: More energy and improvement of endurance. Often the mental aspect also came forward: more stress resistant and more self-confident. Other incidental notable improvements include: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS / ME), Crohn's disease, MS, COPD, chron. hyperventilation and rheumatic complaints.

The program

The program consists of the following:

  • Walk-in with coffee/tea.
  • Introduction with learning path, testimonials and video with Wim Hof’s recommendation.
  • Brief explanation of the 3 components of the Wim Hof Method: Breathing techniques, Cold training and Devotion / Concentration.
  • The basic breathing technique with extensive attention to healthy belly breathing. The often 'too high' breathing is tackled. As a result, you will also breathe better in daily life.
  • Look for the acidification by bending the knees (horse stand) and then breathe it away.
  • Awareness-expanding breathing technique 2: 'Activation of the pineal gland'. Among other things, the hormonal system is positively influenced.
  • A number of safe yoga postures to promote physical and mental 'being'.
  • Break with vegetarian lunch and organic drinks.
  • Examples of remarkable health improvements by the Wim Hof ​​Method with participants in my workshops and others.
  • Treatise on the scientific evidence that you can consciously influence your autonomic nervous system and autoimmune system.
  • Explanation about the effects of cold (end)showers and cold baths.
  • Mental preparation for the ice bath.
  • Ice bath (possibility).
  • Evaluation with herbal tea.

Note: Everything happens in a relaxed atmosphere without competition. Participants receive a detailed description of the exercises and a photo of the ice bath by mail.

General Information

The workshop is given in the beautiful gallery Waarkunst which makes the day extra special.

Time:    10.00 AM – 15.00 PM

Price:    95 euro (including vegetarian lunch, drinks and 21% btw)

Location: Galerie Waarkunst in ‘t Waar (In between Veendam, Delfzijl and Winschoten)

Necessities: Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in freely, for example yoga or sportswear. Swimwear/bathers, a towel and slippers/thongs (optional).

Preparation Requirements

To help with the method and have you more physically and mentally prepared on the workshop day you can take the following steps:

  • Take a cold shower every morning or if that is too much you can start with a hot/lukewarm  shower and gradually turn down the heat until the water is cold.
  • Learn how your body reacts to cold.
  • Stay under the shower until you have your breathing under control and you feel calm. If you find this exercise difficult, just start at your feet and work up slowly. Be careful with your head under the cold shower. If you are new to the Wim Hof Method it’s better to leave this part out until you are more experienced with the cold or for the first months.
  • Listen to your body and make sure that no forcing is involved.

Beste Johan,
afgelopen zaterdag ben ik deelnemer geweest van de workshop in het prachtige ’t Waar. De lokatie, het weer en bovenal de heerlijke vegetarische lunch zorgde voor een perfecte sfeer. Voorafgaande had ik me ingelezen en kwam met een duidelijke doelstelling op de workshop af. De workshop heeft mijn verwachtingen overtroffen en tot gevolg gehad dat ik mijn dagelijkse gewoonten heb gewijzigd. Het koud afdouchen en mijn ademhaling tijdens het ATB-en hebben na enkele dagen al merkbaar tot verschil geleid.
Bovenal wil ik jou danken voor jouw begeleiding tijdens deze workshop. Mede daardoor ging iedereen van deze workshop in het ijsbad!--- Marco

 

"Ik heb in augustus de WHM workshop bij Johan gevolgd. Ik vond het heel erg leuk, informatief en vooral heel uniek.
