October brings a dense calendar of Wim Hof Method events across the United States. Two of the three Saturdays that open the month and its middle weeks start with a workshop somewhere in the country, and the offer ranges from a ninety-minute breathing class in a city park to a week-long instructor training in the Texas countryside. Here is where to find them, grouped into three macro-regions.

California and the West Coast: Wim Hof Method sessions from the Inland Empire to the Sierra foothills and San Francisco

California hosts three very different formats in the second half of the month. The first is a Breathing Class in Redlands on Saturday, October 10, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, at Sylvan Park on North University Street. Redlands sits in the Inland Empire, in the valley at the foot of the San Bernardino Mountains, and the class is a good entry point for anyone new to the method. In ninety minutes it covers the three pillars, safety guidelines and several rounds of guided breathing, and it closes with a meditation.

Further north, the Wim Hof Method Weekend in Mariposa runs from Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, with check-in at 3:00 PM on the first day and a close at noon on the last. Mariposa lies in the Sierra Nevada foothills, a historic Gold Rush town often described as a gateway to Yosemite, and the retreat takes place in a private mountain lodge surrounded by pine forest. Over the weekend, breathing techniques and cold therapy are combined with Qigong, mindful movement, yoga and time in nature, and all meals are included.

The month closes in San Francisco on Saturday, October 31, with a Wim Hof Method Fundamentals Workshop from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The setting is a private home on Mangels Avenue, in a residential neighborhood in the southern part of the city, and the group is deliberately small, limited to five or six participants. The morning covers theory, breathing techniques and an ice bath, then ends with chai and lunch.

Colorado and Utah: Wim Hof Method workshops from the Rocky Mountain foothills to the red rock desert

The Rocky Mountain states open the month with a Fundamentals Workshop in Boulder, Colorado, on Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 1:45 PM. It takes place at A-Lodge Boulder, a rustic-chic mountain lodge on Four Mile Canyon Drive, along Fourmile Creek, just outside the city and at the edge of the foothills. The program introduces the three pillars of the method (breathing, cold exposure and commitment) together with the underlying physiology. It includes guided breathwork and an optional ice bath and sauna, with coffee, tea and light snacks provided.

Utah offers two events, both in small communities far from the big cities. On Saturday, October 17, a morning Fundamentals Workshop runs from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM in Mendon, a small town on South Main Street in the Cache Valley in the north of the state, close to the Idaho border. Participants learn the three pillars through theory, guided breathwork and an ice bath, in an event space with plenty of parking.

A week later comes the most remote event of the month: the Wim Hof Method Weekend in Boulder, Utah, on October 24 and 25, from 9:00 AM on Saturday to noon on Sunday. This Boulder is not the Colorado one. It is a village on Navajo Street in the south of the state, in the red rock landscape of the Colorado Plateau and surrounded by some of the most spectacular desert scenery in the American West. The retreat combines fundamental and advanced breathwork with an in-depth look at the physiology, plus ice baths and sauna sessions, and meals are fresh, local and organic.

Midwest, South and Northeast: Wim Hof Method workshops from Minnesota to Texas and Pennsylvania

East of the Rockies, October starts with a Saturday that feels like a national event of its own. On October 3, while Boulder is practicing, two more Fundamentals Workshops take place in the central states. In Crestwood, Kentucky, the session runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Foxhollow Farm, on Highway 329, and is held in the Bamboo room near the main office. Crestwood is a small community in the countryside outside Louisville, in horse-farm country. The workshop covers the method and its theory, a guided group breathing session and an optional ice bath. Participants are advised to bring light snacks or lunch.

In Minneapolis, the workshop runs from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at TwinTown Fitness, on West 26th Street, with a science and theory discussion, guided breathwork, a coached ice bath and healthy snacks halfway through. Minneapolis is a fitting host for cold exposure, a city used to long winters, and it is the northernmost of the month’s urban events.

One week later, on Saturday, October 10, Michigan takes its turn. The Grand Rapids Yoga Company on Burton Street Southeast hosts a Fundamentals Workshop from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The day covers the physiology and pillars of the method, a guided breathing session, an optional ice bath, and reflection with a Q&A. Afterward participants can join an optional group lunch at the Fulton Street Farmers Market, a landmark of the city, which sits on the Grand River in the west of the state.

On Sunday, October 18, the focus moves to the Northeast. New Hope Fire & Ice, on York Road in New Hope, Pennsylvania, hosts a Fundamentals Workshop from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. New Hope is a riverside town on the Delaware, in Bucks County, a short drive from Philadelphia. After the theory session and breathing practice, participants take outdoor ice baths, then have access to a sauna and indoor cold plunges.

Finally, from October 14 to 20, Texas hosts the Wim Hof Method Academy, Module III, the Fundamentals Instructor Training. It starts on Wednesday at 5:00 PM and ends the following Tuesday at 10:00 AM, at a secluded facility on Roberts Road in Huntington, about two hours from Houston Airport, in the pine forests of East Texas. This six-day intensive is aimed at those on the path to becoming instructors. It tests mastery of the three pillars, the breathing exercises, the physical challenges and teaching presentations, with accommodation and three meals a day included.
